About Me

My photo
My name is Iraj Fatima and I welcome you to my photo journal. The liaison between my passion and what stirs me. Here you can view a glimpse of my thoughts and inspirations behind a fusion of modern and traditional photography. The five years experience from which I have developed a keen sense of detail. My photography has was Orlando based but now since I have relocated to San Jose, CA, my willingness to travel has extended my ability to capture essence and broadened my pictorial horizons. I think of a photograph as a moment in time full of emotion and truth, a flash of time embedded with ambience and substance.

Mohammad and Fatema

It has been a while since I have posted a blog (almost 2.5 years!). I know its been a long time but that does not mean that I wasn't actively taking photos ;). A lot has happened since then; I got married and moved to San Jose, CA. It took me a little while to adjust in San Jose but, I finally was able to get my first wedding here, a few weeks back. I was happy to know that the bride was from my hometown and we were able to share a few things, like the cold weather (for us Floridians) and how we both miss Publix. The Mithani family was so friendly and welcoming. I truly enjoyed capturing their special moments and would love to work with them in the future again :).

For religious purposes, I am not able to show photos of the bride so I will mostly be posting photos of the groom and some details of the bride. I wish I was able to show the photos of the beautiful bride because the photos came out amazing! Hope everyone enjoys the photos!

Also, if anyone knows someone in San Jose who is looking for a photographer, please spread the word!

Thanks!

Mehwish and Husnain

Who knew a last minute booking could turn out to be one of my favorite weddings to shoot yet? Mehwish and Husnain are a couple with great chemistry. Even outside in the 40 degree weather, we had a lot of fun taking pictures and got some great shots. Although finding some of the poses cheesy, it was sweet how Husnain was more than happy to make his bride smile. On the Mehndi day, also known as the Henna, I was able to capture a lot of detail from the henna designs to the center pieces. The Shaadi, or the Wedding day, the bride with a usual natural look wowed us with some beautiful make-up. It was my first time taking pictures at the Waldorf Astoria but it was easy to find places where the couple could be themselves and look beautiful. I could say this was definitely one of my favorite weddings thus far. I hope to have many more since it's only January. :)

Muqeet and Quratulain

On October 29th a very special person was born... ME! Haha yes! I had a wonderful birthday this year and received a lot of awesome gifts haha, but no seriously...I'm just glad to be living another year, thank God! Anyways on my actual birthday my family and I traveled to Jacksonville, FL for a family friend's wedding reception and I was the official photographer :). The Reception was taken place at a Golf Club in Jacksonville. Muqeet and his family are very fun individuals who just love to have a good time. And Muqeet and his wife Quratulain have been one of the nicest couples that I have shot :) Congrats to you both! Heres a preview of their reception.
