About Me

My photo
My name is Iraj Fatima and I welcome you to my photo journal. The liaison between my passion and what stirs me. Here you can view a glimpse of my thoughts and inspirations behind a fusion of modern and traditional photography. The five years experience from which I have developed a keen sense of detail. My photography has was Orlando based but now since I have relocated to San Jose, CA, my willingness to travel has extended my ability to capture essence and broadened my pictorial horizons. I think of a photograph as a moment in time full of emotion and truth, a flash of time embedded with ambience and substance.

Muqeet and Quratulain

On October 29th a very special person was born... ME! Haha yes! I had a wonderful birthday this year and received a lot of awesome gifts haha, but no seriously...I'm just glad to be living another year, thank God! Anyways on my actual birthday my family and I traveled to Jacksonville, FL for a family friend's wedding reception and I was the official photographer :). The Reception was taken place at a Golf Club in Jacksonville. Muqeet and his family are very fun individuals who just love to have a good time. And Muqeet and his wife Quratulain have been one of the nicest couples that I have shot :) Congrats to you both! Heres a preview of their reception.

Pamela and Nadir

On October 1st I had the honor to shoot a wonderful couple, Pamela and Nadir. The wedding took place at the Radisson in Orlando, but the portraits were taken at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, which was a lot of fun! Pamela wore a beautiful blue indian lengha while Nadir wore a sherwani.  Later they both changed into their reception outfit and dance the night away. Enjoy!

Andddd I'm bacck!!

Hey guys!!

I know, it has been a while. But heres a quick summary of what happened in the last 2 months!

First Ramadan came and really slowed me down for a month but once it was gone, things really got busy from there.

Since my last blog I purchased a new camera (which is kind of a big deal!)  Nikon D7000 and I love it!

Eid-Ul-Fitr (Islamic Holiday right  after the completion of Ramadan) was also great, nothing beats being with family and friends....and eating again... DUH! I also got a chance to travel to Rochester, NY for a few days with my family and I also had a great time. The view in that city is just simply amazing.

But after all the good times, a tragedy hit in our family unexpectedly. My cousin Amara passed away in an accident, leaving her husband and two young children behind. Its just crazy how things happen when you least expect and your life can be changed in a second. Her death really hit a lot of people in our community and around the globe. I really do see life in a different way now, I mean death has never been anything new to me, a lot of people close to me have passed, and I guess it is just life, only death is guaranteed. A lot of people get caught up in this world and worldly/materialistic things but we forget why we're here. I am sure many people of different faiths are reading this right now so we all have our own reasoning for being here. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that death just brings us closer to the people we love and closer to our religion. And with that I love you Amara!! I'll miss everything about you and it sucks that you won't be there to say Happy Birthday to me (we all know how good you were with that) I'll be sure to take pictures of your kids every Eid and every birthday (not like I ever stopped). You will definitely be missed! <3

I love all my family and friends who have been there for me and who have just been good people to me. I am truly blessed with what I have and what God has given me. And I am so thankful for living each day that passes by.

Life is too short! Do what you love! And never stop fighting for what you believe!
(so cliche, but so true!)

Last picture I took of Amara and she had a genuine smile! (that never happened!)

Love ya, Bobby!

P.S... I know my grammar sucks, please excuse me.

Thanks for reading :)

Nyah

Since it is the month of Ramadan, it is kind of slow in the wedding department for me, but today I had the great pleasure to shoot a cute little baby named Nyah. She was such a fun, cute, and cooperative baby (I rarely get those.) Check out some of the photos from earlier today.

By the way, Blogger kills the quality of my photos, so if you would like to see better quality photos just visit my flickr  :)
